Atlantis: The Lost Empire
This is the weakest Disney cartoon in a long time. It ranks down there with
The Aristocats and
The Rescuers. Michael J. Fox provides the voice for the film’s central hero, a budding scientist who believes Atlantis exists and has a decent idea of where to find it. He then journeys to the lost city, a place as exciting as Denver. The animation, produced by the directors who put together
Beauty and the Beast, seems a bit sloppy by Disney standards. There are no standout characters, and Fox’s voice can be grating at times. Severely lacking in the wonder department.
