Is it unnatural to pair the intricacies and beauty of nature with sci-fi? That’s what the earthy yet cosmic art of Z.E. Pangborn does in a nutshell. And, judging by his following, it works. Pangborn recently ran a successful Kickstarter campaign to self-publish a collection of his work, in addition to other artistic exploits: showing a new series at Magpie Caterers Market and Cafe, and selling prints in Midtown on Second Saturdays. He was also the proprietor of the tiniest gallery in town, Volution Gallery. Check out some of his originals at the noticeably larger space at Sacramento State University Union through February 24.
