Another dip in the musical theater pool

The New Helvetia Theatre company may have taken its first dip in Sacramento’s professional musical theater pool this summer with its sublime production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, but they’re not making it a one-hit summer. This Monday, several cast members from Hedwig (most notably, the awesome Nancy Zoppi) will join New Helvetia’s artistic director Connor Mickiewicz, the Sammie award-winning band the New Humans and local cabaret king Graham Sobelman for a concert performance as part of the Sacramento Film and Music Festival at the Crest Theatre. The show, titled The World Is Comin’ to a Start: Songs From Stage and Screen, will also feature Rosemary Babich, Lauren Parker and Tristan Rumery. It’s at 8:30 p.m. Monday, July 27, at the Crest Theatre, 1013 K Street. Tickets are $15, and are available at the Crest box office or online at www.sacfilm.com.
