an extraordinary machine
a dragonfly’s erratic hyperbole
and da Vinci imagined helio-copters,
repeatedly traveling a metaphorical tightrope
from the whorls of his fingertips.
sycophantic angels cited divine condescension
from some eternal watchmaker
creating worlds under thumb;
but helio-copters carry Hellfire missles,
an extraordinary machine
