The Mondavi Center’s Children’s Theater Series may be recommended for children ages 4 to 11, but we think anyone who’s ever been a child (that means everyone) will enjoy this production of Margery Williams’ beloved children’s tale The Velveteen Rabbit. Presented by ODC/San Francisco, a world-renowned dance ensemble based in—you guessed it—San Francisco, this timeless tale is about (for those living under a rock for the past 84 years) a young boy, his stuffed rabbit and the transformative powers of love. The performance features recorded narration by legendary Bay Area clown Geoff Hoyle, colorful costumes and sets, and a musical score by British composer Benjamin Britten. Tickets are $15-$24 for general admission, and $12.50-$7.50 for children and students. The performance will take place at 3 p.m. this Sunday at the Mondavi Center in Davis.
