All aboard!
Get ready for a railroad theme at next year’s Local Playwright’s Festival. According to Christine Nicholson of City Theatre, that’s the setting for next year’s plays, the fourth in the series run by the Sacramento City College theater department. Nicholson told SN&R that the railroad theme will be particularly fitting. Not only are the rails—and their place in Sacramento history—a natural treasure trove for stories, but the setting may also lend itself to a theater space in the California State Railroad Museum. It will be necessary to find new space, because City Theatre will be excluded from its present location for all of next season, due to ongoing construction at the college. Nicholson explained that the theater will have no permanent home for at least a year—perhaps more—and is scrambling to find adequate temporary performance spaces.
