Agnostic Front
The Distillery, 9 p.m., call for cover
1983 was a badass year. Microsoft Word launched, McDonald’s introduced the McNugget and The A-Team debuted. But it’s also when Agnostic Front, a crew of New York skinheads, stomped onto the scene with United Blood. That album was classic New York hardcore. To the average listener, A.F. might sound like a band of screaming lunatics, but quality hardcore music can be measured in energy, and A.F.—even after almost 30 years—still has energy in abundance. Its mix of hardcore, oi! and metal pretty much takes all the badass genres of music and grinds them into a punk potpourri (wow, that’s the wrong word). 2107 L Street, (916) 443-8815, www.agnosticfront.com.
