Sometimes, the best news about the breakup of a band is that the component parts go on to make compelling music. Such is the case with the dissolution of local roots act Harvester. One spinoff, Carquinez Straits, has been making the rounds for several years now. Another, a Portland-based quartet named Dearest, Crown, has just released a new album on Lather that features string-, horn- and accordion-based folk balladry that’s reminiscent of Neutral Milk Hotel and Donovan. The best news of all is that audiences can check out both bands when they perform together at the Fox & Goose Pub (1001 R Street) on February 15. The show starts at 9 p.m., and the cover’s $6.
