Caramel Crunch bar, Puur Chocolat
Chef Ramon Perez creates edible art with his jewel-toned chocolate orbs. They’re almost too pretty too eat (but you must). Even better for my chocoholic tendencies is his Caramel Crunch ($7.50), a.k.a. “the crack bar.” It’s labeled milk chocolate, but at 41 percent cocoa, the creamy mouthfeel and rich flavor belie its name. The “crack” comes in the form of caramelized cereal pieces, a.k.a. nirvana. They add the perfect crunch-to-melt ratio. Perez even wraps the bars in gorgeous floral paper for deluxe appeal.
