A twang-bangin’ Friday night
Despite the fact that Garth Brooks was embarrassed about being “country,” at least enough to try to reinvent himself as a guy who looks like Trent Reznor but sounds like ’70s puss-pop à la England Dan and John Ford Coley, there remain rednecks who still like their music to be 86 proof and above. For those fine ladies and gentlemen, HighTone Records has put together an old-school revue titled the TwangBangers, which features Bill Kirchen (formerly with Commander Cody), Dallas Wayne, Redd Volkaert and Joe Goldmark. You can check ’em out Friday, September 21, at the Palms Playhouse, 726 Drummond Ave. in Davis. Show starts at 8:30 p.m., tickets are $15. You game?
