A real emerald city

Making green buildings requires more than a quick trip to Sherwin-Williams. But if that sea-foam green paint is also eco-friendly, you’re on the right track. Sustainable, earth-friendly construction takes planning, from the first shovel dig to the last hammered nail. The “Let’s Start Something Green and Sustainable” seminar series will educate residents and businesses about green construction and overall sustainability Wednesday, June 3, from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the West Sacramento Civic Center, 1110 W. Capitol Avenue. The free event includes a presentation about the proposed local green building ordinance, round-table discussion and speakers who will share green building techniques.
