A Night with Cleese
Wednesday, March 28, Mondavi Center, 8 p.m., $52-$252
If you listen closely, you may be able to hear the coconut halves clicking together as John Cleese comes to town. As a writer/comedian behind the popular Monty Python comedy group, Cleese helped found the collaboration that was a staple of 1970s British pop culture and left an imprint on sketch TV. After a five-year run on BBC as Monty Python’s Flying Circus, the group pivoted to film. A fan favorite—Monty Python and the Holy Grail—will be screened, with a talk by the bloody Black Knight himself to follow. Cleese will discuss his life and career and answer audience questions. Bring your most absurd inquiries for the comic legend. 1 Shields Avenue in Davis, www.mondaviarts.org.
