A meatloaf with nuts
Eating organic, vegan food is not only healthier for the body, it contributes to the overall health of Earth. Besides, factory farms and harmful chemicals on crops are like a virus on our home planet. Yet learning to cook vegan meals—especially tasty ones—seems daunting for many. What the heck can replace meat and dairy? Whole Foods Market (4315 Arden Way) will offer a vegan and organic cooking class Friday, April 23, at 6 p.m. Participants will learn how to prepare quick and healthy meals such as kale wraps, tabbouleh salad, raw sprouted lentil soup and a nutloaf (a meatless meatloaf). The class is $20. For more information and a variety of additional classes, visit www.wholefoodsmarket.com/stores/sacramento.
