A look at books
Looking to add to your food library? I asked Don Kochis from The Avid Reader in Sacramento what food titles are creating a buzz:
“Celebrate! A Toast to Fine Food and Good Friends from the Junior League of Sacramento. That’s a hardbound, beautiful book at $26.95. We’re going to have an event Sunday April 20 between noon and 1 p.m., here at the Sacramento store.
“Hip Tastes: The Fresh Guide to Wine, by Courtney Cochran. That’s a sort of young wine guide, interesting and fun.
“One I just loved the of title, and we finally got it in again, is Veganomicon: The Ultimate Vegan Cookbook, by Isa Chandra Moskowitz and Terry Hope Romero. It’s quite a nice cookbook, with a little bit of fun in there too.
“And of course the Jessica Seinfeld cookbook Deceptively Delicious—it has generated a little controversy, but was an outstanding bestseller for us. She’s Jerry’s wife, and it’s actually a pretty nice cookbook, no matter where she got the recipes.”
