A little neo-futurism for you
Green Valley Theatre Company is treating locals to a one-night-only production of Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind. The hit show by the Neo-Futurists is the longest-running (21 years!) show in Chicago—and it’s as fresh as you can possibly get: The audience decides which scene comes next in a performance that runs for exactly 60 minutes in which the performers are attempting to fit 30 plays. Yeah, it’s that wild. Ticket prices are determined by rolling a pair of dice, so it’s bound to be some amount between $2 and $12. The troupe will have two performances on Saturday, August 20 (one at 8 p.m. and one at 10 p.m.) at the California Stage, 2509 R Street. Tickets are available at the door—be ready to roll for ’em—or may be reserved in advance by calling (916) 736-2664 or emailing tickets@greenvalleytheatre.com.
