A little like Lily

Like Lily Tomlin, Tom Schultz was born in 1939 and has a show in Sacramento this month. He’s the artist and not the theme of his show, however. But Schultz has been at his craft for decades, too, like the celebrated actress. The Oakland-based painter combines hard edges, controlled drips and wide brushstrokes to create works with jolts of electricity coursed through them.
