Throughout the first half of the 1990s, Julian Faulkner's paintingshung at the Michael Himovitz Gallery, one of Sacramento's seminal art exhibition spaces. In 1997, the Himovitz moved from downtown to across the river at 1616 Del Paso Boulevard, but by 2001, the gallery shut its doors. It later became the address of other art venues, and currently, it's the home of Artspace1616, where Faulkner's work—who hasn't exhibited much since around the time the Himovitz ceased to be—will hang. There's a full circle somewhere in there—if you squint a little.

Also showing at Artspace1616 this month are paintings by Richard Blackburn and Reece Metzger and photography by Anne Veraldi.
