A convenient talk

It’s easy to feel like the climate-crisis issue has become too agenda-driven, too jargon-heavy, too politicized. But politicians get their information from academic researchers and scientists (we hope), so why shouldn’t you also cut straight to the source? Robert W. Christopherson, professor emeritus of geography at American River College and co-author of On Melting Ice, The Fate of Our Polar Bears will give a catch-all global-warming talk to the public at 1 p.m. this Sunday, October 14. He’ll discuss human-caused climate change, 2007 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change reports, the 2005 hurricane season, Greenland’s meltdown and more. The lecture takes place at the Unitarian Universalist Society, 2425 Sierra Boulevard. Call (916) 483-9283 for more information.
