A conservation cooperative
Sacramento State is the new home of the California Landscape Conservation Cooperative. The group, which promotes the relationship between science and land management, held an open house earlier this month to show off its new digs in Sacramento State’s Modoc Hall. Specifically, CA LCC hopes to shape and guide actions that address climate change, conserve natural landscapes and prevent stressors to the California ecosystems. The CA LCC is funding 13 projects this year, totaling more than $1.2 million. Projects include mapping invasive species, studying inland fish species, and monitoring the sea-level rise and its impacts. For more information, visit www.californialcc.org.
