7 Seconds

7 Seconds is the catchiest hard-core band you’ll ever hear. I know the words "catchy" and "hard-core" don’t seem to belong in the same sentence, but imagine a hard-core Buzzcocks, and you’ll get an inkling of what’s in store. This live recording showcases the fun and energy of a 7 Seconds show: The 26 songs—a good mix of new and old, a couple of covers—rip by at a breathless rate. Best of the latter is a version of Sham 69’s "If the Kids Are United," an old-school tune that fits perfectly in 7 Seconds’ repertoire with its hooky chorus, which has the audience screaming right along with the band. And, as this shows, the real fun of a 7 Seconds show is that so many of the songs—packed with catchy choruses and melodic "whoa-ohs"—are a blast to sing along with, as this crowd exuberantly does. You can feel the energy coming through the speakers. One listen, and you’ll find yourself singing real loud, too.
