50 Ways YOU Can Show George the Door in 2004
Ben Cohen and Jason Salzman
The guy who brought us “Chunky Monkey” is now lining up activists to get rid of the current occupant of the White House. Ben Cohen, half of Ben & Jerry’s, has teamed up with Jason Salzman of Cause Communications to list 50 things that one person can do to make a difference in the November elections. Some of them are hilarious: “hold your nose and vote for Kerry” nose plugs as gifts for your favorite Naderite, for instance. Others are pretty basic: Send an e-mail to 10 friends showing them how easy it is to register to vote online. And one of the most useful pieces of advice—so good that even Florida Republicans are giving it: Sign up for a mail-in ballot. Then at least there’s a paper trail, and it leaves you lots of free time on Election Day to help others get to the polls.
