In response to the 2020 U.S. Census and changes in populations and demographics, new administrative districts are being drawn all over the state, for everything from the California state Legislature and U.S. House of Representatives to our Chico City Council.
The city’s efforts are in the early planning stages, but the drawing of lines on the map for two other local entities, the Chico Unified School District and the Butte County Board of Supervisors, is already well under way. In “Lines drawn,” a sneak preview feature from the November print edition of the CN&R (on stands today, Nov. 4), Evan Tuchinsky lays it all out, including how members of the public can still get their voices heard.
Take care,
