Issue: August 15, 2019
Morning, readers!
Are you ready for summer to be over? I'm not! Even with this triple-digit heat we're getting, I'm basking in these last few weeks of river weather. But enough about me! The students are coming back! So, that means it's time for our annual Back to School issue. This year we focus on the post-Camp Fire landscape--in particular, enrollment at Chico State and Butte College and what the campuses are doing to retain students.
In other news: The now-dry Miocene Canal might be sending wild predators down the hill for water--there've been more bear and mountain lion sightings of late; our state and national representatives talk Camp Fire recovery, but won't touch climate change's part in the disaster; and Editor Melissa Daugherty takes on Chico State and its reluctance to turn over public records.
Have a great weekend, and keep reading!
