Spring is rockin'!
It's music season at the Chico News & Review! With the Chico Area Music
Festival & Awards Show coming up (April 20, 7pm, at the Sierra Nevada Big
Room), we bring you our annual Local Music Issue. In addition to
highlighting a couple of intriguing local acts—experimental hip-hop crew,
Pervert, and serious AND fun "mom-rock' four-piece, Susurrus—we check in
on area musicians who were burned out by the Camp Fire, including local
bluesman Maurice "Big Mo" Huffman.
In other news, Chico moved a step closer to a permanent low-barrier
shelter, as Safe Space and the Jesus Center presented their plans for an
Orange Street facility to the City Council. And, the measles epidemic hits
local adults, a six Butte County residents (only one a child) have been
diagnosed with the virus.
As always, thanks for reading!
