Issue: October 05, 2017
Morning, readers!
This week we bring you our annual Beer Issue to coincide with Beer Week, which is actually 10 days of beer-related fun hosted by some of your favorite establishments around town. To start off the fun, read about the new Secret Trail Brewing Co. getting ready to open up shop in Chico's booze district on Park Avenue. Then head on out to Manzanita Place later today for the Beer Week kickoff event, Brewfork, where you can sample local brews (and some out-of-towners as well), enjoy live music and food from a variety of mobile kitchens. (I hope to see you there!)
In other news: We had a big week for police activity, starting with DA Mike Ramsey's unveiling of the evidence uncovered while investigating the officer-involved shooting of Tyler Rushing and ending with the bizarre robbery/shooting that left a local man dead the same day he moved from a tent into an apartment. We have more uplifting stories to tell, too, about a locally based effort to aid Puerto Rico, as well as some adventurous folks trying to encourage Chico State students to get outside more.
Read on,
