Issue: August 24, 2017
Happy birthday to us!!!
If you haven't heard the news yet, we're officially screaming it: The CN&R is 40! In celebration, we've dedicated our feature story space to an oral history of the paper, going back to its humble beginnings as the Chico State Wildcat. Enjoy! Also flip through other parts of the paper for additional reminiscences, from a profile on our longest-running staff member (Tina Flynn, who started 39 years ago) to a Q&A with Distribution Manager Mark Schuttenberg (25+ years). Also, please come celebrate with us as we block off the streets behind our office to make room for food trucks, bands and a beer garden this Saturday (Aug. 26), noon-4 p.m.
We've also got stories about Chico State classes being cut, lawsuits filed to stop the twin tunnels project and what's going on with 45.
Until next week,
Meredith J. Cooper, managing editor
