Issue: April 06, 2017
Morning, readers!
Who's in the mood for some poetry? Well, many among you submitted short poems for our annual contest celebrating National Poetry Month and so we have the best of the best on offer for you this week. Bonus: If you'd like to hear our winning writers read their own works, head over to the Bookstore tonight at 6:30 for a free reading.
In other news: Cesar Chavez Day weekend may not have ended in many arrests, but two young people lost their lives due to partying too heavily. We also look into Chico PD getting body cameras (a bit too late to shed light on the shooting death of Desmond Phillips), the city hires an urban forest manager, and we keep our Eye on 45.
Until next week, read on!
