Issue: March 09, 2017
Morning, readers!
Who's in the market for a house? How about an apartment? I personally can name at least three people who can't find what they're looking for, in their price range, in Chico. And I was in that same boat just six months ago. Turns out we're not alone. Chico's housing market is extremely tight. And for first-time homebuyers, that's an issue. It's even a bigger problem, however, for low-income residents who are getting priced out. Howard Hardee investigates.
In other news: Ken Smith looks into Butte County's interest in becoming a "non-sanctuary county"; "Logan" blows the superhero movie genre to smithereens (in a good way); and Gloria Steinem offers inspiration for activism from decades of experience. Oh, and don't forget it's Daylight Saving Time this weekend. (Arts Devo is ready--check out his column this week to find out why, and to see a cute pic of his dog, Honey.)
Until next week,
