Issue: July 07, 2016
Morning, readers!
Hope you all had a fun and safe Fourth of July! Check out our Newspic
this week for an awesome view of the fireworks over Lake Oroville. Also,
our feature package this week is dedicated to water, as in all the
refreshing, adventurous creeks, swimming holes, lakes and rivers we have
right here in Butte County. Take a cue from some of those depicted in
the photo essay and cool off when it gets hot. (Just please take proper
precautions when doing so!)
In other news: Chico is prepping to switch streetlights to LEDs at the
same time the whiter lights are being studied for causing sleep
disruption; the city of Chico nixes a proposal to waive facility rental
fees for some; I got a tour of the Gateway Science Museum's new
exhibit--and more; and if you like cheesecake, you're in luck with the
new Joker's Bakery.
Read on!
