Issue: March 31, 2016
Morning, readers!
We know you all love The Esplanade. Heck, WE love The Esplanade. But
according to some pretty reputable studies, it's just not safe enough
anymore, particularly for pedestrians and cyclists. Check out Robert
Speer's breakdown of the plan to upgrade Chico's most beloved boulevard in
this week's feature story.
In other news: A planned high-density senior development in Durham has some
residents up in arms; Glenn's Board of Supervisors vote down the EIR for a
controversial waste facility there; and Enloe has a new canine healer--and
some programs partnering with Butte Humane Society to integrate more dogs
into the hospital setting.
As always, thank you for reading. Until next week,
Meredith J. Cooper, managing editor
