Issue: October 08, 2015
Morning, readers!
Who's ready for some beer?! OK, maybe not just yet .... but it is almost
lunch time :) This week we celebrate Beer Week with our annual Beer
Issue, in which we not only feature a whole lot of stories about beer,
and beer-making, and beer tasting, but we also have a snazzy pull-out
calendar chock-full of all your Beer Week happenings. (Online, it can be
found at www.chicobeerweek.net.) Cheers!
In other news: Walmart is back with its plans to expand the Forest
Avenue store; the City Council considers pushing its ordinance to crack
down on homelessness to cover the whole city; Chico State students take
part in a 24-hour animation contest; and Editor Melissa Daugherty weighs
in on California's version of Oregon's Death with Dignity Act.
As always, there's more. Why not sit back and enjoy a story or two with
an ice-cold brew? In fact, the kick-off for Beer Week, Brew Fork: A
craft beer and food truck rally is happening tonight: 5:30-8 p.m,
Manzanita Place. I'll even be there pouring beer till about 7! Hope to
see you there!
Till next week,
Meredith J. Cooper, associate editor
