Issue: March 15, 2012
Dear readers,
We have some great reads for you this week. Our feature story, penned by
contributor Sean Murphy, is a first-person account of his attempt to run
two marathons in two states on the same day. Is he crazy? Did he succeed?
You’ll just have to read to find out ….
In other news: Local artists aim to find out why Enloe is going through a
mega-company to purchase art for its new tower; we look into the thought
process behind new bullet-proof glass on the first floor of city hall; and
the Chico Creek Nature Center gets a new director.
And … I have a little news of my own. This is the last week I’ll be
writing o let you know what’s in the current issue of the paper, because in
a few weeks my husband and I are moving to a small town in southern France,
where he’ll be attending pastry school. I’ve really enjoyed my time here at
the CN&R and in Chico and I’ll miss all the wonderful people I’ve met and
worked with. I’m leaving my post here in good hands, too--former News
Editor Melissa Daugherty will be returning from maternity leave next week
and taking my place.
Thanks, as always, for reading!
