Issue: March 01, 2012
Good morning,
We have quite an issue in store for you this week. For our feature story,
Tom Gascoyne trekked into a box canyon to visit Martha Rowe, whose lived in
a tree house there for more than 40 years with her recently deceased
husband, Lou Sutton. Their life together was truly something legends are
made of.
In other news, Ken Smith explores the Chico Police Department’s proposed
changes to the city noise ordinance (hint: some people are more than a
little upset!); Vic Cantu aims to find out why the Salvation Army is having
donation trouble; and Catherine Beeghly spends a day on the set of a movie
shot locally.
As for the arts, Jason Cassidy gets a sneak peek at Chico State’s newest
absurdist theater production; and Henri Bourride takes a trip down to Biggs
for some good eats.
Enjoy!
