Issue: February 23, 2012
Good morning,
For our annual Business and Entrepreneurs Issue, the CN&R takes a look at some of the businesses and entrepreneurs who helped shape the character of downtown Chico. One of those entrepreneurs was Jacki Headley, the woman behind Made in Chico who recently passed. Others include the owners of Mountain Sports, Caffe Malvina, Bird in Hand, House of Rice and The Upper Crust Bakery & Eatery. Check out our profiles for more (and some cool historical photos, too!).
In other news: Local weatherman Anthony Watts gets caught in national headlines; the Special Olympics' basketball tourney scheduled for next month at Chico State gets called off after a major mix-up; and BEC gets a new leader at the helm.
Reminder: Today is the last day for Fiction 59 entries. Log onto www.newsreview.com/fiction59 for entry details.
Thanks for reading!
