Issue: November 24, 2011
Good morning, CN&R readers,
In honor of this week's holiday, we offer you our annual Local Heroes issue, in which we highlight some local individuals--and this year a couple and a father-son duo--who give much more than is asked of them and make the community a better place.
In other news: National Adoption Day offers a unique opportunity to celebrate family while shining the light on the secretive foster-care system; local grandmothers return from an eye-opening visit to Israel and Palestine; and, in the spirit of Black Friday, a father and daughter work together to create high-quality, hand-made toys for local stores.
Happy Thanksgiving, from the CN&R family to yours!
