It's back-to-school time (yep, already!)
For Chico Unified, school is officially in session. That means kids on
school buses, wearing backpacks, doing homework ... you name it. Check out
our feature stories--on sports, the new Wildflower Open Classroom charter
school and physical education--but don't miss all the other school-related
features we've got for you this week. There's a fun Q&A with longtime CUSD
bus driver Charlotte Miller; an update on that Tdap shot everyone's been
talking about; and a few other snippets of schoolyard goodness.
Of course, that's not all we've got in store for ya this week: We head out
to the Abbey of New Clairvaux in Vina to take in a rarely seen ceremony
while catching up on how the monks are doing in their chapter-house-reconstruction efforts (hint: it's close to finished!); there's an update on the county's medi-pot-cultivation ordinance (hint: it's still on hold); and Arts DEVO bids farewell to our beloved calendar editor, Stacey Kennelly (hint: she's priming to take over the world).
Next week we'll be getting everyone ready for the return of college
students, so stay tuned!
