The little station that could
In South Oroville, the El Medio fire station is a community hub of activity. CN&R contributor Evan Tuchinsky took time to get to know the chief and others who make the station such a special place. Its future is uncertain, however, despite the willingness of everyone involved to work for little more than the satisfaction of serving the community.
In other news: A local pediatrician lends a hand in a remote community in the Himalayas; Henri Bourride mixes up some holiday drinks; and a local man decorates T-shirts with dirt--yes, dirt.
Thanks for reading!
