Issue: May 28, 2009
Both Memorial Day and Chico State commencement have come and gone (not in that order). With high school graduations following, summertime is pretty much upon us. Thus, it’s time for the CN&R’s Summer Guide. This year, we’ve decided to issue a challenge: complete 20 tasks, and along with the experience from that, you could appear in the CN&R ... and maybe win a bike! Meanwhile, Arts Editor Jason Cassidy previews the music festivals coming up across the North State. This week also marks the launch of a new publication focusing on local business, which on the surface might seem a stretch, except that the CN&R is, in fact, a local business, so we have some know-how in that regard. Of the various other offerings, may I recommend: Juan-Carlos Selznick’s review of the new Night at the Museum film, Ryan Laine’s story about the Pacific “garbage patch” and an editorial and a column that might draw some letters. (Oh, there’s always Letters ...) Happy reading!Evan Tuchinsky, Editor
