Making biking even greener

It doesn’t get much more environmentally friendly than riding a bicycle rather than driving a car. Riding a bike eliminates the need for gasoline, cuts down on carbon emissions, and it curbs traffic. Still, before you get up on that biking soapbox, there are additional ways to take your biking to the next level of eco-friendliness. Here are a couple of products that can get you on your way:

Purchase a solar-powered bike light. You’ll no longer need to replace those pesky batteries. (You can pick one up locally for $21 at Campus Bicycles.)

Splurge on a bamboo bike. They’re beautiful, lightweight and durable. Calfee Design (www.calfeedesign.com) makes some sweet models, including a road bike for $4,994.
