CN&R Election Guide

This could be a watershed in California politics—all of California, including Chico. Votes are restless, upset, worried. Because of the recession and the state’s endemic dysfunction, they’ve lost their faith in government’s ability to solve problems, and they’re angry at incumbents, almost regardless of their voting records.

In this special section, we take a close look at the races that matter most to our readers—the contests for governor and U.S. Senate and for Chico City Council and school board. We also explain the propositions in a way that makes them much easier to understand. Finally, we offer our endorsements in all of the significant contests local voters will encounter on their ballots.
