Flynn announces candidacy
First-term councilwoman Mary Flynn will seek re-election
Chico City Councilwoman Mary Flynn is seeking a second term. The longtime Chicoan announced her candidacy Wednesday morning (July 14), putting to rest speculation whether she would seek at second term.
Flynn (pictured) is the administrator of Chico State’s Community Action Volunteers in Education (CAVE). A member of the city’s Finance Committee, she said her top priority is to provide fiscal leadership. Flynn also chairs of the city’s Economic Development Committee. In that position she helped create the city’s Economic Development Strategy.
“I’ve shown during my first term that I’m willing to lead on the tough issues,” Flynn stated in a press release. “With the community’s support I’ll continue to serve the city with the same integrity, vision and leadership I have demonstrated during the past four years.”
