Back in the day, this is the kind of empty-headed drive-in/matinee filler Disney used to churn out, usually featuring a teenaged Kurt Russell doing silly slapstick nerd heroics. These days, this cheap-jack production only looks like something the Sci-fi Channel would pass over to Nickelodeon, to pass on to someone else in a series of shuffling until someone made a mistake and it ended up on the multiplex screens. Four kids with superhuman powers are recruited by a secret government agency to train as superheroes and save the world from impending doom. Pratfalls, buttloads of product placement, gross-out humor, poor writing and ADD acting ensue. Oddly charming in a runt of the litter sort of way.
