You are not alone
Survey says most Americans support Obama’s green-energy push
Ever feel like you’re on an eco-island? That the naysayers and polluters and other big-money interests are drowning out the calls to clean up the environment and address climate change? That words of change from the White House are falling on indifferent ears?
Take heart: According to a recent Zogby Poll, nearly three in five American voters support what President Obama has to say about global warming—to wit, that in order “to truly transform our economy, protect our security, and save our planet from the ravages of climate change, we need to ultimately make clean, renewable energy the profitable kind of energy. So I ask this Congress to send me legislation that places a market-based cap on carbon pollution and drives the production of more renewable energy in America.”
In a survey commissioned by the National Wildlife Federation, Zogby pollsters found that 58 percent of registered voters approve of his push for climate-change legislation. Parsing the results further brings out some other interesting numbers.
Agreeing with Obama on green energy are:
91% of Democrats
96% of liberal voters
73% of moderates
55% of independents
So, if you share these values and all the environmental activism in Chico isn’t enough to convince you … rest assured, you are not alone.
