Wild driver gets hard time
Remember Tobias Christopher Vigil? He’s the Chico man who last year at this time led cops on a wild high-speed chase that ended only when he crashed his Cadillac into Halldorson’s Tri-County Appliance store at Ninth and Walnut streets. The crash broke a gas line and the store went up in flames. It was destroyed.
This week U.S. District Judge William B. Shubb sentenced Vigil, 37, to eight years in prison, five of them for using firearms in drug trafficking and additional three for his long criminal record and reckless flight from the law.
