Chico State included in top five green colleges by Yahoo
The online article, released Sept. 15, cites adherence to environmental building standards and eco-friendly community-service projects among the sustainability practices distinguishing Chico State from other universities. Also mentioned is the university’s grand-prize win in the National Wildlife Federation’s Campus Ecology Chill Out contest in 2007, which recognized universities for innovation in reducing carbon-dioxide emissions.
This isn’t the first time a national news outlet has grouped Chico State among the country’s greenest universities. Similar lists by the Sierra Club, Kiwi Magazine, The New York Times and environmental websites the Daily Green and Grist also have mentioned Chico State.
