Whims of patronage …
Elomire (left, played by actor Jeff Dickenson) is subjected to the whims of one of his patrons, the Marquise Therese (right, Michelle Smith) in the Blue Room Theatre’s next production, award-winning playwright David Hirson‘s hilarious set-in-17th-century-France comedy La Bête ("the beast” or “fool"). Leader of a troupe of bickering actors, Elomire’s life becomes even more complicated when his patron, the Prince of Conti, insists he utilize a talentless clod (played by veteran local actor Jerry Miller) in the group’s next production. The play is scripted in rhyming verses, inspired by the classic works of Molìere. Directed by Joe Hilsee. Plays Thursday-Saturday, Dec. 5 through Dec. 21, with a special Sunday evening show, Dec. 15. Tickets: $10 general; $8 student/senior; all seats $5 on Thursdays. For more information, call (530) 895-3749.
