Wedding shooting

A wedding celebration in Oroville was interrupted on Saturday (Jan. 4) by gunfire, sending a man to the hospital.

Around 5 p.m., Oroville police officers arrived at a home near Pomona and Sixth avenues and found a 34-year-old lying face down with a gunshot wound. The man, whose name has not been released, was taken to a local hospital and was reported in stable condition Tuesday (Jan. 7).

Witnesses told officers a dark-colored sedan with four men inside had driven by the home, and approximately four shots were fired into the front yard, where a large group was celebrating. The sedan then reportedly sped off.

No arrests have been announced.
