Welcome to the CN&R’s Election Issue!
Nov. 4, 2008, will mark a major turning point in U.S. history. Americans will elect either our first African-American president or first woman vice president. Californians will either uphold or ban same-sex marriage. North State residents will decide to usher into Congress either a fresh Democrat or old-school Republican.
On top of that (technically, lower on the ballot) are local races for city councils and school boards.
It’s impossible for a paper our size to cover everything in detail, though we gave it an honest effort. In fact, Editor Evan Tuchinsky and News Editor Robert Speer wrote so much that we couldn’t fit it all in the print edition, so here online you’ll find Web-exclusive material.
We hope you find our stories informative and endorsements enlightening. Read away … and please vote!
