Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World
Vegans are often shrugged off as an irrationally extremist group of vegetarians. Similarly, cupcakes are often neglected by a society that sees them as either a silly variation of cake or an unhealthy alternative to muffins. To that end, vegans and cupcakes should stick together, side by side, assuring one another that they are indeed unique and important. Then the vegan eats the cupcake. It’s a complex relationship. At any rate, there are bound to be a lot of vegans out there wondering, “Where are my calories?” Written in part by Isa Chandra Moskowitz, who also penned the landmark Vegan With a Vengeance (Moskowitz and Terry Hope Romero also host the public access show Post Punk Kitchen), this book can help solve the riddle of the vegan sweet tooth. The seasoned vegan chef will be happy to note that almost none of the recipes call for those unreliable egg substitutes. This book needs to be in the kitchen of every vegan who likes cupcakes, which is probably all of them … because who doesn’t like cupcakes?
