Vandals get copped

Chico police made a total of five arrests related to a vandalism spree on Tuesday (July 28) in south Chico during which dozens of vehicle windshields and house windows were broken with rocks.

Three suspects from Yuba City—Ellis Ware, 23, Jesse Alexander Robinson, 20, and a 16-year-old—were arrested shortly after police received multiple reports of vandalism early that morning, including one from The Maltese Bar & Tap Room on Park Avenue, according to a police press release.

Investigators later learned the names of “two suspects who eluded capture,” according to a press release, and went to the Chico home of Lucas Drake Schuelke (19) and Sydney Anne Hammonds (18). Both were charged with felony vandalism—Schuelke was also charged with felony evading—and booked in Butte County Jail.
